I am so sorry to have report that Poppy hasn’t made it. She was put to sleep this afternoon.
She will be going to Halifax Pet Crem and her ashes will be spread in their woods. Anyone who has been knows what a special place it is. Sleep tight little one…
FURTHER UPDATE…
Poppy has now been in the vets for a week. It has been touch and go on a few occasions, but she is a fighter.
Thanks to you amazing lot out there we have raised £2500 to go towards her vet bill. I have no idea if it will be enough or too much, but as always Donaldson’s vets will do there very best, for us and for her.
Bonus, Wendy one of the veterinary nurses has fallen head over heels so you just have to get better Poppy, you have a fabulous life to look forward to…
Update, Poppy is holding her own so fingers crossed. She has a new name and a new home all being well.
I want to personally thank everyone who has donated….for some reason you don’t always get a thankyou via the website as you should….some do, some don’t.
So a massive thank you to everyone…i will keep you updated on her progress.
Deb
It is a disgusting disease, parvo.
Tia Greyhound and Lurcher Rescue, is in fact named after a puppy I rescued whilst in the Police. She had no chance, there were no wonder drugs then. Tia was the name she had for two days before she left…
When a veterinary nurse rang from Donaldson’s, today, back in Huddersfield, I could tell by her voice that she needed help.
This little 10 week old poppet had been taken in to be put to sleep as the owners couldn’t afford the cost of treatment.
The drugs to treat parvo are very expensive so we need 4 things.
Donations towards her vet bill please….a new home when she gets better….lots of fingers crossed….and a name.

Thanks as always…..Deb
