Salacre’s Spy, d.o.b. 1.10.2017
Full brother to three Open racers and half to two Group Ones. He would not have been cheap. Blew it in an egg and spoon race at Nottingham last July by taking his coat off with another dog at the fourth bend.
Instant disqualification from the sport but we don’t think he cares much.
His mother can barely hold her head up for the shame. Nine races and won two.
Jim is currently on foster but will be returning to Tia. His foster family have kindly written an update on Jim:
We fostered Jim (he answers also to Frank, Frankie or Franklin D Roosehound) this gorgeous gentle giant alongside our adopted hound during the Covid crisis. We are gutted that for all sorts of reasons our “normal” life won’t allow us to keep 2 dogs. He loves family life so much we are desperate to find him a loving home so he always has a sofa to sleep on.
There are so many great things to say about this beautiful boy. He has a perfect temperament: happy, friendly, always over the moon to see you but at the same time he is really calm, gentle and even by the high standards of a greyhound, pretty flipping lazy!
His hobbies include cuddles, sleeping and playing with his football in the garden. He has lots of great habits. He is really calm around other dogs, has little chase instinct (probably why he was a useless racer!), he is house trained, polite and walks beautifully on a lead. He eats well but isn’t much of a thief! He has learnt basic commands and, surprisingly, recalls on a whistle! From day one he has been fine at night and is happy curled up on a dog bed or a sofa.
If you meet him you will fall for his beautifully big eyes (and he knows it) and his puppy face. He loves to be stroked and nudges you with his paw to ask for more. He’d be fine as a second (or third or fourth!) hound, an only hound and definitely a family’s first hound.
We’d be very happy to chat to anyone to tell you more about this beautiful boy.
