About

Domestic Dynamo, d.o.b. 1.12.2015

Rafa is a stunning boy, beautiful from tip to toe. Coming directly from kennels into his first home environment. Apparently he’s an accomplished racer, but you’d never know as he is such a loving home boy.
He is clean in the house (no accidents so no training was required). He pee marks the garden bushes, just so that the local cats know who’s in residence, but always saves his ‘big jobs’ for walkies. Rafa is a real character- when he wants to go out he starts bringing us hints: shoes mostly but he even once brought me the car keys (he LOVES going in the car)! He has never been fed from the table so he doesn’t beg, but he is always hungry and any food left unattended is considered fair game, worktops are regularly scanned to see if we can be caught off guard. He has never damaged anything in the house, he has his own toys which he loves and sticks too. He doesn’t sleep on the sofas, even though he is welcome to and he can’t climb the stairs, but that’s fine for us as he sleeps at night contentedly on his own bed in the kitchen.
He walks perfectly on a loose lead so is a pleasure to take out, he hasn’t learnt to walk with us off-lead and will wander off in his own world. Recall is perfect when he wants to come back and totally hopeless when he’s distracted (most of the time) so he stays on the lead and everyone is happy. He is good in the company of other dogs, but needs supervision as he is still “complete” and can get easily excited which could lead him into trouble. We expect that when his tackle is off his exuberance will diminish. He loves to play with our grandchildren and is calm and gentle.
He is very affectionate, loves his cuddles and in my opinion will make a wonderfully rewarding family pet.

About

Set Sail, d.o.b. 8.5.2015

A fabulous courser. Winner of the Cork Cup a few years back. Massive 42kgs and you will need to order a new three-seater sofa. Or just sit on the floor.

Still needs a few pies yet.

About

Holy Water, d.o.b. 9.4.2015

Should have air miles awarded. Henlow, Swindon, Crayford, Peterbrough, Towcester, Sheffield, Waterford, Clonmel and ……….Askern.

Stroma doesn’t owe racing a damn thing. A beautiful ghost of a dog. Here he is winning at Towcester a couple of years ago. Stroma also put our latest arrival Taransay firmly in his place a few years ago. They are lodged at the opposite ends of the kennels for now!
This exquisite creature needs to go with another greyhound.

About

Shaneboy Eva, d.o.b. 25.10.2015

The only thing that caught up with this girl was old age. Clova was born in Ireland and raced first in Clonmel. Her main career was at Harlow. Clova was a good little girl winning 13 races including an Open.

Clova came in from the flapping track having been given away on lockdown night like all the others. Clova has become as real favourite with the kennel staff however she is a real scaredy cat and a bag of nerves. We do not know what caused this but would like a quiet country home with some sympathetic folk.

About

Athy Rocket, d.o.b. 20.1.2016

Mull needs a change of luck and a chance. Veteran of fifty three races and triumphant in seven of them. Trailed in last or 5th on his final ten races at Monmore last year, something we hate seeing happening to an old warrior. Mull was a bit dispirited when he first arrived but has perked up considerably since settling in.

Welcome Mull, you should have been here months ago.

About

Ballyglen Mac 21.6.15

A professional! Veteran of 101 races (pity he has no spots). Finished last and tailed off in his final race, something that we hate to see happening to a warrior. To add insult to injury a girl beat him 7 kgs lighter.

Given everything to the sport, let’s mention his triumphs. Eighteen wins, tough as teak and barely seems to have missed a months racing in his whole career.

Showed a clean pair of paws to many a racer who has passed through Tia.

Welcome Cullen
