Steer on permanent foster

Steer on permanent foster

Steer went into a permanent foster home in August this year…the wonderful couple who had Boe for two years had a big greyhound shaped hole in their house and hearts.

He is doing okay, he is still nervous and quiet, but he will be fine. He has the best chance now. He will still remain a sponsor dog and Tia will always be here if needed….

Steer was belting (in a way) around Doncaster until last August 2018. His last trial was in October when he was soundly beaten by his own brother. That’s family loyalty for you.

His siblings turned out to be tougher than Steer as four of them were still hard at it up to shut down. It was never Steer’s forte. A beautiful big brindle who really fills the eye, however he is still a little nervous and the right home has been difficult to find.

Steer has been with us four years now.

Tinkerbell

Tinkerbell

Breed: Greyhound
Sex: Female

About Me

Little Tinkerbell – she’s a bit of a Tinker, but such a Belle. Tinkerbell has no tattoos so we know nothing of her history other she was born around 2014.

Tinkerbell has been at Tia since July 2017 and is still like a giddy puppy. Several attempts have been made to rehome her but she is far too energetic for most greyhound people. She lives with Hubble and they are blissfully happy like an old married couple.

About Me

Toggle McQueen       dob  12/6/13

We had only been in Scotland for two days when Uriah let out the scream of death. He was playing in the garden, and I knew as soon as I looked at him that he had broken his leg. I also instinctively knew that it was cancer, which the vets soon confirmed. But I couldn’t let him go, not yet. I thought at best he might
have a good summer, but I really felt that he wouldn’t be around much longer…

We all prayed for more time, particularly Lana – they are inseparable.

Yet, unbelievably, seventeen months after having his leg amputated, Uriah is still here, going strong. He is an absolute gentleman, and every second with him is precious.

Harper

Harper

Breed: Greyhound
Sex: Male

About Me

Llewin Potter  dob 27.10.2011

Harper was racing down at Romford until September 2015. He has been here since March 2016 and been rehomed once with a fantastic Tia supporter, however his main aim in life was trying to drag her neighbours dog through the fence. In his youth he was a sod with other dogs but loves his life at Tia. He is the noisiest dog in the kennels and probably the softest. He is also the second oldest, coming up 12 years old in November.

Harper had an untreated wrist injury, which is causing him discomfort in his own age.

About me

John’s Vic        dob. 31.10.2015

Victor came to Tia in a hell of a state at 2 years old – no racing record and a nervous wreck. He used to sit at the back of his kennel afraid of human contact. Victor has been with us over 5 years, he is still a nervous boy, hates anything new, but is content with his lot…

Michael

Breed: Greyhound
Sex: Male

About me

Plan Impact.        dob  1.7.2013

Michael came to us at 3 years old absolutely bald. It has taken a long time to get on top of his skin condition, but he is now fit and well and happy at Tia. His favourite time at day is when he is out in the paddocks waiting for any of the farm vehicles to go past so he can give chase and shout loudly.

Micheal was rehomed once, but he picked on the resident male and it didn’t end well. He was in a bit of a state and was fetched back home to Tia. He was so relieved to get back home, it’s quite sad really.

He is coming up 10 years old.
