About Me

“So, you’ve rehomed me 4 times now. Which bit of I want to live at Tia don’t you understand?!”

“Three days I slept when I came, three whole days. You said you didn’t know if I was going to make it. I did hear you even though I couldn’t keep my eyes open. I took your tablets and ate the food. The vet room is a lovely quiet place.”

“I don’t know why they threw me out of the van locally. I remember it was blazing hot and I was running in the fields for what seemed like days.”

“So this is the thing….do not rehome me again. I want to be one of those sponsor dogs….”

Oh James…. welcome to the fold!

Mr Mole

Mr Mole

Breed: Greyhound
Sex: Male
Age:  years

When the Sheffield 13 arrived at Tia Rescue, they were neglected and damaged. Wrecked emotionally and physically. Some are on their journey to recovery.
We have three beautiful brothers who may never be homed, at this time they are too broken. They are safe, loved and cared for.
Mr Mole, Eugene and Bungle.
We will give them forever sanctuary at Tia Rescue. These 3 beautiful hounds will become sponsor dogs, like many before them. Some are still here, others loved in our memories. We miss you all. Yes you big lad Ross.
To do this we really do need your support
Please help

Maha

Maha

Breed: Greyhound
Sex: Female

When Maha arrived at Tia rescue she was afraid of life, needing to spend her paddock time on a lead as catching her was a morning’s work. Her confidence has grown and now she loves the kennel staff. She also loves Woody, her kennel mate; she sleeps on him, snuggles up, hides behind him, chases and plays with him. He is her rock.
She remains frightened of people, especially men. Barking from a distance, with Woody at her side.
The outside world is too scary for this little angel.
She has been given forever sanctuary at Tia Rescue and is our new sponsor dog.
Maha is hoping for sponsors to help with her keep.

Langley

Langley

Breed: Greyhound
Sex: Male

My Way Longley, dob 1.9.2012

Langley raced at Belle Vue until he was nearly four years old. He wasn’t really very good, just an honest card filler. When he was no longer of any use his owner left him at the trainers with the instruction “put him to sleep” and promptly stopped paying the kennel bill. That happens more often than you think.

Fortunately the trainer and a “greyhound friend” arranged for him to come here one evening. Another black dog, slowly making his way down to the sponsor end of the kennel block like so many others here,

This older lad has been here for some years, he is a big gentle black hound with mesmerising eyes. Langley is settled and happy. Nobody ever chose him to go and put his feet up, he also remains as keen as mustard towards all things small. Still he pays his way as a sponsor dog and has a small but loyal group of supporters.

Please consider sponsoring Langley.

Kaia

Kaia

Breed: Lurcher
Sex: Female

About Me

Kaia came to under our wing in March 2015; a stray from Hampole she was filthy, thin and a nervous wreck. Fortune smiled upon her for once and Kaia went to live with an elderly lady with a cat. She was very happy in her new home but the old lady fell ill last year and sadly Kaia had to return to the fold.

Kaia has settled back so well we feel it isn’t fair to uproot her again. The lady must be about eight now and seems blissfully happy and is no trouble.

Sweet sweet girl and excellent at helping newcomers settle to their new lodgings. The place wouldn’t be the same without her.
