At this time of year we are busy organising/booking events for the rest of the year and putting them on the Events Calendar, but here’s a heads up on what’s coming up in the near future:
Sun 27th Jan – Clothes Hound Pop Up shop 11am – 3pm. Your opportunity to purchase lovely warm double-layered fleece coats specifically designed for Sighthounds, available in a range of sizes and patterns. Can also be made to order.
Mon 28th Jan – Donkey Sculpting Workshop
Mon 4th Feb – Coffee and Crafts morning 10.30am – 12 noon. All welcome, bring along your knitting or other crafting materials.
Sat 9th Feb – Doggy First Aid Course 2 – 5.30pm, £49.50 per person. Only a few places left!
Also, we’ll be running another Tia Craft Stall at the Spring Fair (date to be confirmed) as the one at Christmas proved so popular – donations to the stall would be much appreciated. We will also be holding another plant sale in May (date to be confirmed) for those people who can donate ‘spare / surplus’ plants and shrubs.
We are doing some of the work ourselves at the shops in order to save money.
Me and Darren (I hate painting) will be at Hebden shop 10am Friday if anyone wants to come and help, if only, for an hour…
The old paddocks are coming down and we are putting up 4 new bigger ones. And a bonus, underneath the soil we have lots and lots of sand. They will be much bigger than the old ones so the dogs can have a better run around. All in safe, secure paddocks.
The safety of all our animals is very important. The first job that we did here was secure the whole farm. Seven miles of fencing Bob, John and Gary put up…
I am writing with a heavy heart to let you know that we sadly had to say goodbye to our beloved greyhound Luna on the 14th December.
We have been blessed to have shared so many wonderful adventures with her over the years since we re-homed her from your care just over 10 years ago ……How that time has flown we so very wish we could of had her with us for another 10 years !! but nature calls and that cycle of life goes round. Luna was a beautiful greyhound and we had a very special bond with her.
Grief is such a powerful force, then so is love and she was loved so very much and will continue to forever be in our hearts.
We have just been to collect her ashes and hope to release her to run free at one of her favourite places, Bretton Hall Sculpture Park.
Her four-legged brother Indigo and Cat and I were with her to the very last minute as she passed away in her home. Luna had received surgery at the end of November for a ruptured disc and she had also had degenerative disc disease that sadly meant she was not able to make a recovery from. We nursed her 24 hrs at home for the last 4 weeks of her life following the surgery but her limbs did not recover.
I could tell you so many wonderful things about Luna, she certainly was a truly amazing greyhound and also had a very mischievous, playful, often naughty pixie side to her that we loved and miss so very much.
I would like to Thank you for all the amazing work you have done over the years and continue to do in rescuing and rehoming so many beautiful hounds.
I have attached some photos of the beautiful girl
please feel free to use them on your calendar and media sites.
Love and Peace
