We will be holding a CPD accredited Dog First Aid Course at Tia Rescue on Saturday 9th February 2019, from 2 – 5.30pm.  The cost of the course is £49.50.  All attendees will receive a booklet and certificate at the end.  Anyone interested in attending needs to contact Tia Rescue on 01302 772935 to book a place. Christmas Wreath Workshop

Christmas Wreath Workshop

A Christmas wreath making workshop will be held on Weds 28th Nov, 10am to 12.30pm, in the Tia Visitor Centre, Mill Race Farm. Cost per person is £20 to include tea/coffee and mince pies. All materials are included, although anyone wanting to use fresh flowers will need to bring their own, plus if wishing to follow a specific colour scheme bring your own baubles. Plus everyone needs to bring their own secateurs. To book a place please contact Tia on 01302 772935.

Tia Christmas Fair Sun 9th Dec

The Tia Christmas Fair will be held on Sun 9th Dec, 11am to 4pm. As usual we have some fabulous stalls lined up for you. We will also be running Tia favourites, the Tombola, the Bottle Stall, and raffle. Donations of items that can be used as prizes for these would be most gratefully received, and can be dropped off at the kennels. In addition, we will be running a Tia Christmas Craft Stall, and need handcrafted items to sell please. Help also needed to man these stalls on the day. Shire Horse Experience for Adults Sat 17th Nov

We will be running another Shire Horse Experience for Adults on Sat 17th Nov at Mill Race Farm, 11am to 4pm. Participants must be at least 16 years of age. Cost £35 to include lunch and refreshments. Booking essential. Contact Tia Rescue ASAP to book 01302 772935. Payment required before the day.

Keep your hound safe

As we approach Halloween and bonfire night put your thinking caps on
Expect the unexpected and keep your dogs especially safe. A loud bang or flash may cause any dog to bolt especially your greyhound/sighthound. Be aware In the garden and at all times of the day, be smart and be safe, keep your hound on a lead when outside.
Steps
Act normally around your dog. Pretend as though the fireworks aren’t happening. …
Play white sound or music. …
Close the curtains. …
Distract your dog with a game or a puzzle treat. …
Put a Thundershirt on your dog. …
Make an anti-anxiety wrap out of an elastic bandage. …
Keep the dog on a leash if you go outside.
