By the end of last year the walks were becoming very popular, with new faces (human and hound) joining us every month! We hope they will continue to be successful this year.
The walks are a great way to network with other greyhound folks, though all breeds are welcome to join us. It is also a good way to promote greyhounds as pets which is so important for them!
The next walk is on Sunday 5th March at Daneshill Lakes, Daneshill Road,Torworth, Retford DN22 8RB.
Meeting at 11.00 am in the main car park (free parking).
Follow A638 Great North Road to Torworth, once in Torworth take the turn onto Daneshill Road, there are brown signs for the lakes.
The walk should last around 35 minutes.
Dogs on leads at all times and please scoop the poop. Anyone who would like to take a kennel dog would be welcome to but please arrange with Deb in advance.
Join us back at Tia rescue (just a short drive from Daneshill Lakes) for some lovely food and good company.
Hope to see you and your hounds there, thanks for the ongoing support!

Kennel Sponsorship

Well, it’s finally happened! The new kennel block is finished and it was great to welcome the dogs back last weekend.
It has been pandemonium getting as many dogs out into foster homes as possible and then getting them back, some sooner than others and some rehomed!
We are desperately trying to get back into our normal routine, and, as ever, we are also in need of funds.
The new ‘sponsor a kennel’ scheme that we introduced in December was a great hit with people either for Christmas presents or themselves and we have over 40 kennels already sponsored. But, there are many more kennels now waiting for a sponsor to help care for the dogs that will be housed there during the coming year. Please would you consider doing this for Tia and for the hounds??
Your sponsorship will help to ensure that all the dogs that pass through your kennel over the year will be warm and dry, have plenty of comfy bedding, access to any vet treatment required and will be well fed during their stay.
You can sponsor a kennel for yourself or as a gift, perhaps for that person who has everything? The sponsor’s name will be displayed on their kennel for a year and they will be sent a certificate of sponsorship.
It costs £100 a year to sponsor a kennel, or, if you would like to pay by monthly standing order then it is just £8.50 per month.
If you would like to sponsor a kennel, please ask at the kennels for details, email your contact details to and we will get back to you, or, ring 0113 2565731 and speak to Marion, our sponsor scheme volunteer.
Please will YOU help us to help these needy hounds?

Hi, just to let you know we had to goodbye to Polly (aka Dinky) last Friday
We loved her to bits, she was a grand old age of 14years.
She was a lovely natured and kind dog, never seemed to be naughty but I have to say she was cheeky.
Once she pinched my mums false teeth and ran round the garden with them.
She will be missed but forever in our hearts.
love Louise, Terry and Katie

The builder was sacked 2 weeks ago. Of all the monumental cock up’s….you can imagine the language!!P1000314

But thanks to Brian from Thorne, who has supplied his men at very, very short notice, and Nigel, Tuts and Katie we have managed to crack on…

Anyhow we need the dogs back so we are making do with what we’ve got. The dogs will be fine, this row will all be single kennels. The dogs won’t mind, they’ll be able to have toys and bones….

At least they will be back this weekend….can’t wait….and i have some very, very good news…
