Our sponsor in America who sent the coats for Blythe and Gabbi last year is under the 40 inches of snow. Her greyhound, Skyler, is NOT impressed with it and she has had to dig out a path round her ‘backyard’ so he can go out and do what he needs to do. He won’t go on the snow!
Thinking of you Gaby but Skylar……this is how the Brits do it
What i didn’t expect when I went to Askern last Wednesday to pick up the pup and his mom, was a group of suits getting out of a taxi.
It transpired that they were MP’s.
What they didn’t expect was me.
Deb; ” Hi who are you lot then?”
Neil Parish; ” We’re from Parliament”
Deb; ” Oh is it you whose lost my submission.”
Neil Parish; ” Oh, who are you?”
Deb;” Deb from Tia”
Startled young man, (sorry I don’t know your name) ROTHERY?
Neil Parish after nearly falling backwards over the wall, went onto explain that they have now received it and will publish it. They had it before…
Anyhow to cut a long story short, we had a talk, Neil Parish, Simon Hart and Dr Paul (lovely accent) Monaghan…They asked how Tia made money, begging and charity shops and more begging.
I also told them I firmly believed that they want rid of all independent tracks and that they just want there 6 or 8 super tracks….Then there will be no need for independent rescues and no one to high light the welfare problem….
The dogs will all then be under the control of the racing industry, the RGT will cherry pick the best dogs to rehome. The rest will be killed. And there will be no need for silly little dog women like me…It’s always a mistake that…..
It’s then that he smirked. He didn’t want to be any where near me and was only hovering to hear what was being said.
Smirked…..Jim Fitzpatrick….How rude…
This is Tia’s 20th year…
We are taking Loddon to court.
Me and Bob are lending Tia the money for the newt survey.
Support Adoption for Pets have given us £35.000 towards the new kennel block.
We have around 90 dogs here…..
We are now one of only four Shire Horse Visitors Centres in the country.
Teams of volunteers needed to help with tin rattling and the summer shows.
Skipton and Burnley shops are now closed.
So that’s it in a nutshell. The move has cost us a lot of money and we are always skint this time of year as there isn’t much fundraising going on. So we have to look forward to a load of fundraising, this summer, as we do every year. We will be holding some big events here, to celebrate Tia’s 20th year…….details to be published soon…Exciting!! If you have any ideas of how to utilise this place and the café, please feel free to get in touch…
It is a big chunk losing Skipton, but the lease was up and we couldn’t commit to another.
We will be publishing a list of shows soon, so if you can help out, please get in touch. We will still be doing the old favourites…
We are taking Loddon to court and it will be a happy day when the piece of garbage in the yard can come down…I will be the first in the queue will a very big hammer.
The dogs are coming in thick and fast. Not 1 or 2, but 4 & 5 at a time. I’m trying to get them all on the site…We have just had 4 brought in off a horrible man, yes you Frank. He didn’t give us a penny for their upkeep, they aren’t even vaccinated. Good thing is they will be normal dogs as they haven’t raced and are only 18 months old. He had a litter of 10 week old greyhound puppies in his van. The next Derby winners. Yeah right….Idiot!!
The shops are still our main source of income so please if you are having a clear out, please throw it in our direction. We don’t have a van anymore though to do collections. It failed it’s MOT badly and we can’t afford another….
We need homes, lots of homes please……
Thank you, Deb
She was too beautiful for this world my Phoebe. When I first saw her she took my breath away. She was only 6months old.
When I got her at 12months old, the damage had been done. She had been fed “growth formula” by her breeder.
But it didn;t make her grow. It killed her…..We tried for a year but we lost her 30th December 2015..
She was the most beautiful Clydesdale I have ever and will ever see……Deb
